[Action/Video] kain is why we can't have nice things
[Action]
[It was supposed to be a nice surprise.]
[Supposed to be, but Kain has no idea what he’s doing. He’d been off on one of his mountain excursions, the first one he’d actually taken solo since the world had been restored and everything had calmed down. For once, he’d at least told Terra when to expect him back… But after enough time, he’s started missing her, and longed to return.]
[So here he is. He’s returned early as part of the surprise, and with a somewhat ambitious idea in mind that he’s going to do something nice for Terra. So he’s bought a bunch of materials and is in the kitchen attempting to make her some homemade sweets. Attempting being the key word here. It all goes… sort of ok, at first...]
[Then It Happens. KABOOM!!!]
[Sudden explosion in the kitchen! Every surface is now coated in chocolate (including the dragoon), and there’s some ruined parts here and there under the chocolate coating too, the aftermath of the explosion’s force. And there are the firelizards, fluttering in to “help” clean up by trying to lick up as much as they can (yeah no, they don’t get far with that before many of them are laying around bloated and much much too full, the poor silly things.)]
[Video]
[A chocolate covered Kain is coming through with an urgent message.He had better pray that no bees are around to chase him.]
Does anyone perhaps have a spell to… repair and clean things on a somewhat large scale? It’s a matter of extreme urgency.

action 1/2;
The resulting (and rather clumsy) drop to the floor is enough to wake her completely. Soon enough, sparing no time to change from her bedclothes to her normal attire, she's tearing out of her room and through the hall, leaving a trail of lightly-frosted footprints as she goes, and when she reaches the source of the sound that had woken her—
She stops just shy of setting even one foot onto the kitchen floor.
And she stares.]
action 2/2;
What did you do? [See?]

Imila… I… this was… It wasn’t supposed to go like this.
[Understatement of the century.]
no subject
She walks along the path back to the house at a relaxed pace, a small smile on her lips, as the walk indeed did her some good. All is peaceful until that sudden loud boom makes her jump, and rush toward the house at top speed.]
IMILA!
[Adelind is likewise drawn to the noise, flying out of the barn and peering into the kitchen windows, making soft anxious whines.]
no subject
With her attention mostly on Kain, she answers him:]
Clearly. [She's clearly a bit annoyed, mostly at the rude awakening, but there's also this absurd mess that she's going to need to help clean up. And fire lizards that she'll have to make sure don't get sick from too much chocolate. And Kain...being Kain. Really, how often did things not go as planned where he was concerned?]
What were you— [And there's Adelind's whine. She glances to the window.] We're okay. Well. I'm okay, I don't know about him. [Back to Kain:] What were you even doing? [What in all the Havens requires this much chocolate?]
no subject
I was... attempting... [He looks sympathetically toward one of his lizards.] ...to create a surprise...
[Well, in that regard he was successful anyway?]
no subject
...Kain?!?
[She stares, delighted by his early return but utterly confused. And then horrified as she notes the fire lizards.]
Oh dear, they'll be ill. We have to get them out of here!
[Clean-up can wait, as she goes to scoop up the nearest ones.]
no subject
Okay, you. [Is that one Maduin? Or maybe Vaan? Or is it one of Kain's? Who knows. Most of them look as if they practically rolled around in the chocolate by now, so it's a little difficult to tell any of them apart. It ultimately doesn't matter which fire lizard it is, though, as she's picking it up from its place on the counter anyway.] That's enough chocolate.
[That fire lizard protests of course, because why are you taking me away from all this delicious chocolate do you understand the crime you are committing here.]
I'll make you something later! Just let us clean this up first, okay? [Wherever Maduin is in all this mess, he probably heard that and he's probably going to hold her to that, as well as a perpetually-hungry lizard can.]
no subject
Right... they should be fine with some rest, and as long as they're kept well away from all of this.
[The poor things have little common sense, unfortunately, so they really need to be moved away from the room completely. Kain goes to pick up another carefully, trying to see its color under the chocolatey mess. The whole lot of them are going to need some serious scrubbing to get them clean. Sigh, he feels incredibly guilty now, and to think he was going to make a nice, simple surprise...]
Forgive me... I didn't mean for this...
no subject
[Terra finishes grabbing all that she can, to bring them outside. Cleaning up will happen where there isn't risk of spreading it all over the house. On her way back to get some towels, she nods to Kain, a bit distracted to talk about this in-depth at the moment.]
I know, but let's work on this first. At least with three of us, it will be easier.
[Kain can be the babysitter, once they're cleaned off. Adelind joins in, eager to help. She tries to best to lick them clean, since she doesn't quite share their diet issues.]
video
The moogles are pretty good at... recovering [possibly that room is beyond help, but they'd make a valiant effort] chocolate mishaps?
But you, um, might want to clean yourself up first...
video
[Or Terra will, they might be more likely to help out their favorite person. He pouts, looking all kinds of broody and annoyed, but the situation is pretty comical despite his overly serious reaction.]
Do you happen to know if there's anything... particular I should do to clean it?
video;
Kain...
[What can he even say..?]
Why can't you seem to stay out of trouble?
video;
...I wish I knew.
[He sighs heavily, trying to let go of some of his agitation. At least... nothing truly horrible has come of this little screw-up? No one was injured anyway.]
I suppose all things considered, this could be much worse...
video;
[That's.. something, right? Hope shoots him a kind smile.]
What happened?
video;
[He sighs again, feeling rather foolish.]
I was attempting to... make a surprise for Terra.
video;
I'm to understand that this isn't something you've attempted before?
video;
Never. I thought it would be far easier to deal with... but I underestimated the difficulty, clearly.
video;
I don't think that Terra would want you to hurt yourself.
video;
[It might be easier said than done, of course, given the sort of situations he gets into... but he'll at least try his best to avoid injury.]
